Elizabeth Process Shots

As mentioned AGES ago - here are some process images from one of the works from my solo show 'Elizabeth'. It was very much one of my earlier portrait experiments and have learnt alot with this piece so am excited to take some of the ideas further in future work. Looking back on these images makes me realise how many little changes happen along the way while trying to put the image together and it's always so far from what I initially imagine.

What to do with those projects that just don't work out

Oh I cringe looking at this first attempt at the Panda image - I was wondering and wondering what to do with it then voilà! Solution presented itself.

Am now onto my next big project which will involve some super talented embroidery ladies but can't give anything away yet!

Feminine Realm - Solo Exhibition

Process Images: Young Deer Girl

This week I wanted to share some process images with you of the young deer girl which will be shown in my upcoming solo exhibition from the 17th February to 1st March at the Brunswick Street Gallery. For the next three weeks I will be stitching my heart out! More images from the show coming soon. 

This is the initial sketch - had a little trouble with that left eye! Always do!

 So glad I didn't go with black!

This weeks inspiration is illustrator Chisato Tashiro whom I discovered while choosing library books for Audrey last week. This image is from the book Chameleon's Colours and I just love the bright colours and patterns all together!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great night - mine involved eating alot of icecream and trying to stitch as fast as I can for this exhibition. I am  in the middle of researching at the moment and wanted to share some inspiration for the works in the exhibition. 

There is going to be a major theme of animals and I am fascinated by flamingo's at the moment - they are so vibrant and interesting to look at. Will share some sketches soon.

Can't wait to see what everyone else has planned for art making this year!

Solo Show

I have booked myself in for a solo show at the end of February 2012. A bit of a leap forward from my previous post which is a good thing given the pending deadline! Here is a sneak peek at some works in progress - hope to share more with you soon.
