November Book Inspiration: Tucked In by Meredith Gaston

I am a little behind on my art book inspiration posts so am trying to catch up this week! For November my inspiration is the book Tucked In by Meredith Gaston. This is such a beautiful, wonderful book to own on so many levels, if you love watercolour illustration and anything to do with the idea of comfort and bed then this is the book for you. Check out Meredith's website also - it is full of goodness.

Process Images: Young Deer Girl

This week I wanted to share some process images with you of the young deer girl which will be shown in my upcoming solo exhibition from the 17th February to 1st March at the Brunswick Street Gallery. For the next three weeks I will be stitching my heart out! More images from the show coming soon. 

This is the initial sketch - had a little trouble with that left eye! Always do!

 So glad I didn't go with black!

After seeing this article here via Frankie on Linking with Love which then led me to find this article from Design Sponge on the ethics of Blogging such as image crediting, copyright issues etc I am going to endeavour to go through my blog and ensure I have permission and credits on everything (Which I think I do but it's started me thinking about the right way these things are done particularly when showing books with images that inspire you - Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?!)

This weeks inspiration is illustrator Chisato Tashiro whom I discovered while choosing library books for Audrey last week. This image is from the book Chameleon's Colours and I just love the bright colours and patterns all together!
